1. Who controls your information
Windsor Express is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and in our shop. We decide why and how that information is used.
2. Information we collect
- Contact details such as your name, telephone number, email and return address.
- Repair details, including device, model, fault, chosen parts, appointment preference and service history.
- Order, trade-in and quote information, including product, condition, fulfilment and payment status.
- Messages you send us and records needed to handle a complaint, return or warranty request.
- Limited website usage information if you accept analytics cookies.
Please do not send passwords, passcodes, payment-card details, photographs or other unnecessary personal information through free-text fields.
3. Why we use it
- Contract: to provide quotes, bookings, repairs, orders, delivery, trade-ins and customer support.
- Legal obligations: for accounting, fraud prevention, consumer rights, age checks where required and responding to lawful requests.
- Legitimate interests: to run and secure our business, prevent misuse and improve our service.
- Consent: for non-essential analytics cookies and any optional marketing you actively request.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Services that process information
We use carefully selected providers where needed to run the website and fulfil a request. These can include Supabase for database and server functions, Stripe for secure card checkout, FormSubmit for enquiry delivery, GitHub Pages for website hosting, and Google services for maps and—only after consent—analytics. Payment-card details are entered into Stripe's checkout and are not stored in this website's database.
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, the provider must use an appropriate legal safeguard for international transfers.
5. How long we keep it
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary. Booking, repair, order and payment records may be retained for up to six years where needed for tax, accounting, warranty, dispute or legal purposes. Unsuccessful quote and trade-in enquiries are normally removed sooner when no longer useful. Analytics retention is controlled through Google Analytics settings.
6. Cookies and browser storage
Essential storage
The site uses limited browser storage to remember your privacy choice and to support booking features. This is necessary for the service requested and cannot be switched off through the analytics banner.
Optional analytics
If you select “Accept analytics”, Google Analytics is loaded to help us understand page visits and booking journeys. Analytics is not loaded before you consent. Select “Reject analytics” to continue without it. You can change your choice at any time using .
Clearing your browser storage may reset your choice.
7. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, transfer, or object to certain uses. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. Contact us using the details above. We may need to verify your identity.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8. Device privacy during repairs
Technicians should only access what is reasonably necessary to test or repair a device. Back up important information before handing over a device and remove highly sensitive information where practical. If a passcode is required for testing, we will explain why; you can choose to enter it yourself when collecting the device.
